FAQ for LED strip lights

LED strip lights are classified by packaging type into SMD strip lights, COB strip lights, and CSP strip lights.

By color, they are divided into single-color strip lights, dual-color strip lights, RGB strip lights, RGBIC strip lights (also known as dream color strip lights), RGBW strip lights, and RGBWW strip lights.

Common voltage classifications include DC 5V, 12V, 24V, 36V, as well as AC 110V / AC 220V.

Low-voltage LED strip lights (5V/12V/24V) cannot be directly connected to 110V/220V household power supply and must be used with a transformer.

There are also 220V high-voltage LED strip lights with built-in rectifiers. If you purchase 220V high-voltage strip lights, they can be directly connected to household power for use.

LED strip lights are available in non-waterproof and waterproof versions. Waterproof ratings are indicated by IP numbers, such as IP20, IP54, IP65, IP67, and IP68. The first digit represents dust resistance, and the second represents water resistance. The higher the number, the better the water resistance.

For a simple understanding: IP20 / IP65 is sufficient for indoor use; IP67 for outdoor use; and IP68 for underwater applications.

LED strip lights usually have cut marks every 3 to 6 LEDs.

Rewiring is required after cutting, and it is not recommended for non-professionals to do it themselves.

Especially for waterproof LED strips, self-cutting may cause waterproof failure and damage.

Power = Length × Wattage (e.g., a 5-meter light strip with 10W/m = 50W, consuming 0.5 kWh of electricity in 10 hours).

We use an intelligent constant-voltage driver, which saves more than 15% energy compared with similar products on the market.

Customization is supported. We provide in-depth customization services for LED strip lights. Exclusive customization can be realized according to your requirements for length, color, power, intelligent control, special protection, etc., to develop reliable, suitable and practical exclusive products for your project.

Common color temperatures range from 2700K to 6500K.

The lower the color temperature, the more yellowish the light becomes; the higher the color temperature, the more bluish the light becomes.

Warm White (2700K–3300K)

Similar to incandescent lighting, it provides soft and warm light, ideal for relaxing areas such as bedrooms and living rooms.

Neutral Natural White (3500K–4500K)

Close to natural daylight, it delivers clear and comfortable illumination, suitable for kitchens, studies, or offices.

Cool White (5000K–6500K)

Bright and crisp, it is mostly used in commercial spaces, display areas, or places requiring high brightness (such as garages).

Adjustable Color Temperature (2700K–6500K)

Supports dynamic color tuning to meet the needs of different scenarios (e.g., smart home systems).

Choosing a color temperature that complements your space style, atmosphere, and purpose will make your environment more comfortable.

If the LED strip only needs to stay constantly lit, a controller is not required. However, one is needed for functions such as dimming, chasing effects, color changing, and mode switching.

Commonly used controllers include IR remote controls, DMX512 controllers, smart controllers, etc. Among them, IR remote controls require direct aiming to operate, DMX512 controllers are mostly used in professional lighting systems, and smart controllers support more complex functions.

LED strips with smart functions can be connected to a mobile phone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi modules for phone control. Ordinary LED strips do not support this and can only be operated manually with a regular controller.
